Grants#


• Wrote the funded Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics (CIG) organization subaward to Princeton University for developing Analysis and Visualization toolkit for plaNetary Inferences (AVNI).
• Co-Principal Investigator on National Science Foundation Grant EAR-16-22368, Collaborative Research: Bayesian Estimation of Mantle Viscosity Structure and Geodynamic Implications, 09/2016 - 08/2018.
• Co-Investigator on CIDER (Cooperative Institute for Dynamic Earth Research) mini-grant 2014, Investigating mantle dynamics using a composite rheology with grain size evolution, tested using seismology.
• Contributed text and content to the funded NSF Grant EAR-13-15984, New constraints on and models of global and plate-scale anisotropic mantle structure.

Teaching#


Teaching responsibilities included presenting sections and course reviews, evaluating assignments and examinations, and providing student mentoring for the following courses in the capacity of either the course instructor or teaching assistant (Checkout testimonials (external link)):
Fundamentals of Solid Earth Science (external link), GEO203-ENE203, Fall 2022, Princeton University). Conceived and designed a course that included latest computational tools (Python, Jupyter Notebooks), geophysical surveys and geological field trips. Interactive components included iClicker polls (Who am I?, Mine Me), Blackboard derivations and tactile learning Activities

Weekly Seminar on Observational Seismology, Spring 2016-2018, University of Maryland-College Park. Conceived, designed, and organized a new weekly seminar series on the analysis of seismological data from recent earthquakes in the context of regional geology and tectonics.

• Geological field trip to Iceland (2010), Wyoming (2011), Nova Scotia (2012) and Washington (2014): Observational studies into the glaciology, biology, petrology and seismo-tectonics of the area near Reykjanes, Eyjafjallajökull, Yellowstone, Mt. • Data Acquisition, Processing and Interpretation (Gravity, EM, Magnetic, Resistivity, Max-Min, UTEM, Seismic Reflection and Refraction), Eastern Ontario, Canada (2008).
• Installation of the monument and verification of GPS (Global Positioning System) sites: Killbear Provincial Park, Northern Ontario and Matagami, Quebec (2008).
• Algorithm Development for the processing and interpretation of sounds from earthquake seismograms as an outreach & education project for the American Museum of Natural History (2016).
